TRACY BARBA
Tracy Barba has over 15 years of experience in investor relations, strategic marketing, and capital formation in venture capital. She is the Lucas Institute for Venture Equity and Ethics Executive Director at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. Tracy also advises family offices and venture firms, leveraging her knowledge and network to guide capital strategy and stakeholder engagement. Previously, she was the Director of Global Stakeholder Engagement at 500 Global, a venture capital firm and accelerator, where she led marketing, investor relations, and responsible investment policy design and implementation. Before that, she led investor relations for Bamboo Capital Partners, a pioneer in frontier market funds focused on the financial services, healthcare, and energy sectors. She also served as West Coast Director for Golden Seeds, an angel investment network and fund supporting women-led companies. She led public affairs and investor relations at Social Finance US, the firm behind the Social Impact Bond. Her expertise spans capital formation strategies for emerging managers and sectors, frontier markets, blended finance structures, and joint ventures through strategic partnerships and investor engagement. She started her career with venture funds in Silicon Valley, where she was the VP of Marketing, leading strategic partnerships and investor Relations for VantagePoint Venture Partners, a $5B private equity firm investing in renewable energy innovation, InterWest Venture Partners, a $6B fund manager investing in early-stage life science and information technology companies. She has been a mentor and faculty member in leading accelerators and fellows programs.
Tracy graduated from the Women’s College at the University of Denver and attended the Graduate Faculty at the New School for Social Research in New York.
